  • To re-establish civic trust and empower all citizens, especially victims of State oppression and conflict related violence.
  • To advocate, as a lobby group, a public policy on the fight against impunity and corruption that have created conditions that make life in a half-baked democracy unbearable.
  • To showcase, through the powerful film medium, the criteria for apportioning responsibility for past crimes and seeking democratic means to prevent a recurrence.
  • To build the capacity of and increasing the organisational sustainability of Dunia Moja by 2012.
  • To position Dunia Moja as a leading festival dealing with the issues in human rights.
